With its sustainable growth strategy the PHOENIX group has positioned itself as leading pharmaceutical distributor in Europe. “The PHOENIX group can proudly look back on the highly successful development of its business operations. Since founding the company in 1994, we have expanded our activities to 23 countries, and have managed to increase our revenues to close to EUR 22 billion,” the CEO Reimund Pohl said in Mannheim on Thursday.
To be able to continue this success in the years to come, the PHOENIX group is initiating Europe-wide the “PHOENIX FORWARD” program in the new fiscal year 2013/2014. “PHOENIX FORWARD is our reaction – from a position of strength – to the growing margin pressure in an increasingly regulated environment, and the ever faster succession of healthcare reforms in many European markets”, Reimund Pohl explains.
The program aims to achieve groupwide annual cost savings of at least EUR 100 million via sustainable initiatives. The core of “PHOENIX FORWARD” is to improve the company’s internal organization structures in all 23 countries. A particularly important objective is to promote even more intensive know-how transfer between the regions. The initiatives planned in the course of “PHOENIX FORWARD” will enable the PHOENIX group to continue to expand its position as leading pharmaceutical distributor in Europe while maintaining its high level of service.
