Commitment to society

Our financial strength means we are in a position to help others. Using our skills and resources to make a positive contribution to the common good, beyond the scope of our core business, is something we take very seriously. In doing so, we are building on selected flagship projects and smaller social initiatives in the vicinity of our sites. All our activities aim to produce a long-term, sustainable benefit for society. Our employees are also involved in various ways on behalf of a range of charitable projects.

  • Donations and sponsorship

Together for a healthy future (for children) – in 2017, we brought together the PHOENIX group’s social commitment activities under this motto. We focus our support on children’s health and on scientific advances in pharmaceutical research. To ensure our numerous activities are coordinated the best way possible across national borders, we have introduced a guidance document for donations and sponsorship. This will form the standard for all companies within the group. With donations totalling €0.9 million in the fiscal year 2017/18, we made valuable contributions to the common good.

  • Project examples

The PHOENIX Pharmaceutics Science Award has been one of our flagship projects for more than 20 years. For over 25 years, we have been supporting KULTURBRAS e.V., which is based in Germany and Brazil. The association’s core activity is the operation of a day-care centre in Fortaleza, Brazil, in which schoolchildren attend classes and receive regular meals. Our subsidiaries’ other important projects include support for the Queen Silvia Hospital in Sweden, the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) and cancer research in the United Kingdom, and various charitable foundations for the well-being of children and the elderly through the BENU pharmacies in Hungary.

Support of non-profit projects

We take our social responsibility seriously and support international non-profit projects. For the children in Fortaleza, Brasil this means a chance for a better life.
