Change in the Executive Board: PHOENIX group’s Frank Große-Natrop retires from his functions

Frank Große-Natrop, PHOENIX group Executive Board Member responsible for Operations and Logistics, is going to retire on 1 September 2020. His departure, originally planned for the end of the fiscal year (31 January 2021), has been moved forward at his request due to the early successful recruitment of a successor from within the company. PHOENIX group is pleased to announce that Steve Anderson, Managing Director of PHOENIX UK, will assume the role in the Executive Board in addition to his current function in PHOENIX’s UK subsidiary.

Frank Große-Natrop has been a member of the Executive Board of the PHOENIX group since 1 February 2014 with responsibility for Operations and Logistics across Europe. Under his leadership, PHOENIX’s All-in-One service offering was developed. Before joining the Executive Board in 2014, Große-Natrop managed PHOENIX’s Dutch subsidiary Brocacef groep from 2010-2014, for which he also worked as Logistics Director from 2000-2010. Große-Natrop joined the company in 1984, holding various positions within the PHOENIX group and its predecessor companies.

“Frank Große-Natrop has shaped the PHOENIX group in the 36 years he has been with the company. In particular he has furthered operational excellence throughout our European subsidiaries. On behalf of the shareholders, the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board, I would like to thank Mr. Große-Natrop very much for his many years of dedicated work and loyalty. We wish him good health and all the best for his well-deserved retirement”, says Dr. Bernd Scheifele, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the PHOENIX group.

As of September, Steve Anderson will take over responsibility for Operations and Logistics in the Executive Board in addition to his position as Manging Director of PHOENIX UK. Anderson joined PHOENIX UK’s board in October 2016 and was initially responsible for the wholesale business before assuming the Managing Director position in 2017. Prior to that, Anderson worked for the former Celesio group, today McKesson Europe, as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director for Operations and Pharma Services for more than 30 years.

“In Steve Anderson we have found an ideal successor in our own ranks. His profound knowledge of the European pharmaceutical wholesale business and pharmacy market qualifies Mr. Anderson exceptionally well for his new responsibilities. In addition, it was our aim to make the Executive Board more international, to reflect the company’s European structures also in the management team,” says Dr. Scheifele.

“I warmly welcome Steve Anderson to the Executive Board of the PHOENIX group and look forward to a close and successful collaboration. Together, we will ensure that PHOENIX continues to fulfil its role as a leading healthcare provider, supplying medicines to millions of people,” emphasises Sven Seidel, Chief Executive Officer of the PHOENIX group.

With its 161 distribution centres and 2,700 own pharmacies in 27 countries, the PHOENIX group makes a significant contribution to healthcare in Europe. During the Corona pandemic, the company provided medicines and healthcare products quickly and reliably to pharmacies, doctors, and hospitals as well as to patients directly.
