PHOENIX group presents LEAN Award 2025 recognising outstanding projects

We introduced lean management in our organisation two years ago with the goal to achieve continuous improvements and drive cultural change. We created an award to celebrate shopfloor projects that have embraced the lean management spirit and advance our organisation.

With our LEAN Award, we honour the most exceptional achievements in the field of LEAN. Each project, submitted in the business areas Operations & Logistics and Customer & Channels, tells a LEAN success story, showcasing our colleagues’ dedication behind the success. The two very well-deserving winners of 2025 are:

Operations & Logistics: Distribution Centre New Amsterdam, The Netherlands with the project „Leadership and Culture“.

Why they won: The cultural change through LEAN is evident across the entire site. LEAN principles have a strong (visual) presence on the shopfloor and as well as in the offices. This comes with a high degree of employee involvement at all levels and departments. The LEAN initiatives, often led by shopfloor colleagues, resulted in the increase of productivity and decrease of customer claims.

Winners from the Netherlands

Customer & Channels: Switzerland with the project “Comprehensive LEAN implementation supporting cultural change”

Why they won: Through three outstanding initiatives – staff planning, assortment optimisation in pharmacies, and a country-wide communication campaign – Switzerland has driven cultural change, improved productivity, and achieved stronger year-end results.

Congratulations to our colleagues from the Netherlands and Switzerland on their outstanding achievements. They have been honoured with a special LEAN Award trophy and a price money for a team event related to LEAN.

We are already looking forward to inspiring new projects and next year’s LEAN Award!

Winners from Switzerland
