Training

Around 50 trainees start their training in various areas of the PHOENIX group every year. We are currently offering training in the occupations of IT specialist (m/f/d), warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d), IT specialist (m/f/d) and  wholesale, export and import merchants (m/f/d).

We want to offer students an excellent start to their careers with our training programmes. At the same time, we create the opportunity for you to set the base for your professional career in an international environment.

We focus on introducing you to different areas of our company and giving you the opportunity to gain practical experience across departments. You will always have a training officer or manager at your side who will support you throughout the entire period of your training and provide you with individual support as well as organize internal processes.

Our success story: So far, we have been able to employ 80% of our trainees after they have completed their training. Many of our current managers started with us in exactly the same way. We look forward to receiving your online application!

Apprenticeships

  • Management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade management (m/f/d)

    Training as a management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade management (m/f/d)

    Wholesale and foreign trade management assistants are the interface between industry and retail. During your training with us, you will get to know a wide range of commercial activities and tasks. This begins with stock-keeping and assortment formation, and extends to sales promotion measures and customer care.

    Of course, the right tools are important, including knowledge of accounting, goods procurement and sales management. During your training, we offer you all the basics you need for a successful start in this profession in a future-oriented company that operates throughout Europe.

    Procedure

    In the various commercial departments you will gain an insight into the interrelationships of the entire company. You will always be accompanied by qualified training officers. Our training management organises the training process and is your contact person throughout the entire training. Parallel to your work in the company, you will attend vocational school, where you will learn the theoretical basics of your profession.

    What you need to bring with you

    • A good to very good secondary school leaving certificate
    • Optionally a technical college entrance qualification or A-levels
    • High willingness to learn and perform
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to work in a team
    • Good comprehension skills
    • Determination and ability to work under pressure

    Once you have completed your training, your prospects in the PHOENIX group are varied. Depending on your personal interests and strengths as well as available positions, you can specialise in different areas such as warehouse management, purchasing, accounting or marketing, or rather work in an advisory position.

  • Information technology officer (m/f/d)

    Apprenticeship as information technology officer (m/f/d)

    Information technology clerks are always needed when it comes to procuring new IT systems, planning and implementing new technical solutions and training users to use them. But they also check whether new purchases and systems are economical and whether they are really appropriate for the needs and requirements of the departments concerned. You will learn all of this with us during your training as an information technology officer (m/f/d).

    Information technology clerks plan which hardware and software to use for certain problems - or design individual solutions if there is no suitable application on the market. During your training, you will get to know a wide range of activities and will be comprehensively prepared for your future work as an information technology officer (m/f/d) - and this in the context of a company that operates successfully throughout Europe.

    Procedure

    The training for IT clerks takes place in Mannheim at our service company ADG - Apotheken Dienstleistungsgesellschaft mbH. Here you will gain an insight into various departments and different areas of work. You will be accompanied by qualified trainers at every station. Our training management organises the course of the training and is at your side as a contact person throughout the entire training. Parallel to your work in the company, you will attend vocational school, where you will learn the theoretical basics of your profession.

    What you need to bring with you

    • At least good to very good secondary school leaving certificate
    • Either a technical college entrance qualification or a university entrance qualification (Abitur)
    • High willingness to learn and perform
    • Good comprehension skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to work in a team

  • IT specialist specialising in system integration (m/f/d)

    Training as an IT specialist specialising in system integration (m/f/d)

    As an IT specialist specialising in systems integration (m/f/d), you are a specialist for integrated computer systems. During your training with us, you will learn the tools of the trade of an IT specialist (m/f/d): You will plan systems according to the requirements of your customers, set them up and manage them.

    You identify errors and faults and rectify them. You advise users on the selection and use of all IT equipment and solve application and system problems. You also create documentation and train both users and colleagues. During your training, we offer you all the basics you need for a successful start in this profession in a future-oriented company that operates throughout Europe.

    Locations

    During your training in the PHOENIX group, you will get to know our various IT departments. You will mainly work at the Fürth site, but also in Mannheim in some cases.

    Procedure

    The various departments will provide you with all the practical information you need for your professional activities. You will be accompanied by a qualified training officer. Our training manager will organise the entire training process and will be your contact person throughout. Parallel to your work in the company, you will attend vocational school, where you will learn the theoretical basics of your profession.

  • Warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d)

    Training as a warehouse logistics specialist (m/f/d)

    Warehouse logistics specialists (m/f/d) are always in demand when it comes to the storage and transport as well as the purchase and resale of goods and merchandise.
    Training at the PHOENIX group is not limited to basic work in the warehouse, where medicines are assembled and packed, received and delivered.

    We show you how a company that is successful throughout Europe is organised, how transports and all the processes associated with them are planned. In this way, we will enable you to plan and understand the complete route of our range of goods, from goods receipt to storage and dispatch processing. In order for you to get to know all the processes, you will also be deployed and trained in various departments such as accounting, purchasing or the customer service centre.

    Procedure

    We make sure that you regularly rotate through the different departments during your training so that you get a comprehensive picture of our company and really learn everything that is important for your job. Your personal development is just as important to us as your professional development. You will therefore always be accompanied by qualified trainers. Our training management organises the training process and is your contact person throughout the entire training. Parallel to your work in the company, you will attend vocational school, where you will learn the theoretical basics of your profession.

    Perspective

    After completing your training, you will have various opportunities to develop your career in the sales centres of the PHOENIX group in Germany. For example, you could work in the incoming goods department and, if you perform well, you could be promoted to shift supervisor. We are happy to promote those employees who are interested in further qualifications if they are suitable.
